Hey /diy/guys

I have currently become interested in radio stations and finding out what it would take to begin broadcasting my own music locally around my campus and city. I have done a bit of reading, and what I am most concerned with is the equipment to get started. The bare basics. If anybody has any stories, resources, etc. I would love to see them.

TL;DR What are the necessary pieces of equipment to broadcast over local radio waves

I'll assume you're not going to be a twat and you're going to be diligent enough to use unoccupied frequencies and not stomp on harmonics. Remember: if you're a dick for long enough the FCC will literally send a van and hunt you down.

You'd be better off hosting an online radio show. Radio is going that way now anyways.

Most of that Chinese stuff has a dirt output because its based on the Rohm BH series chips designed for flea power RF modulators.

Hey OP look into low power FM with the FCC. They just opened up a bunch of frequencys for nonprofit
S which you could do for your home town or college. I have a family member who I help that runs a low power FM station. When I get home and off this phone I will post more info.
