dont really need to spring for Modelmasters, or tamiya, or any foreign paint brands. just wanted something quick and cheap to keep my weekends busy. All my supplies are back home and instead of driving 2 hours to get them, I bought the bare essentials for my apartment.

that pirate ship is my first model, are there any tips or anything to help me get the most out of the experience?

spend lots of time on each part, trim away any flashing. WASH the parts before you paint them, really makes a huge difference. for perfection, use putty around seams and join lines and fine sand it. use an airbrush over large areas for consistancy and no brush strokes.

I just finished this one, it's a classic airframes 1/48 F-5B. I like the way it turned out but the kit was a pain in the ass to build.

Just got my new Mobius Battlestar Galactica "1978" model from Mega Hobby. Its 90% there in terms of look, however the nose section is too bulky. It too small a model (17 inches) to accurately get that kind of subtle detail and not make it look like a toy.

not too bad. I do some models myself. I found that those little cans of spray paint and well placed tape make the cleanest lines for the big stuff, save the handpainting for detail work only and it will look a lot cleaner.

nah, this is 1:200 scale. too small for that

I have a bunch of supplies to make carbon fiber stuff and was looking for some fun/cool suggestions on what to make. I don't want to do car parts because its over done and usually requires a shit ton of materials. Any suggestions /diy/?
