That's another thread entirely, I would think. Just getting the car space-worthy and laying out the plans for the major components are the first steps.

Here's what I've got so far:

- I figure, since the sun is so much more intense in space, fewer solar panels would be needed, so I could use the large back windows in a station wagon volvo for that purpose, and if I mounted then on the inside, I wouldn't have to do a space walk to repair them.

- The large storage area in the back can also be used to house the engines that run the propulsion systems, such as the main thrusters, and the steering rockets that can be mounted in the front wheel wells.

- Aluminum foil can cover the bottom of the car as a cheap alternative to heat shields to protect from the sun's heat, but should also protect from radiation and unwanted interception of wireless connections on-board.

- Speaking of the sun, we will DEFINITELY need to tint the windows to protect from the increase in UV rays.
