It is almost upon us so let's see what everyone is making for the giftable people in their lives.

I myself have a laser cutter and waterjet at my disposal and was trying ot think of what could be made that's awesome, but not too awesome. Problem with being someone who makes things is as soon as loved ones realize what you can do they have heightened expectations for what you might give them during gifting season or requests through the rest of the year.

I have at my disposal a 3d printer, laser engraver and cnc machine. Working on making a custom wooden plaque on the cnc for a friends man cave, and for a family gift exchange I laser engraved a zippo lighter for my grandfather. Want to 3d print something but I am out of ideas and plastic.

Flow Waterjet Mach 3, ~55Kpsi, 13 ft x 6.5 ft bed.

Yeah it's a monster. It doesn't really do engraving. It cuts and cuts and cuts and that's it.

my sister has a guitar, she loves to play in the street, but i have seen that its hard to keep a eye on all her stuff while she plays.
some dude stole her hard guitar case 2 weeks ago
so i had the idea of building her a guitar case / amp for christmas
she is into metal so the coffin shape was a no brainer

just cause she likes metal, doesn't necessarily mean coffin, coffin would be emo.

Oh Jesus fucking Christ. What ISN'T considered "emo" now'a days?

I like it, but why the retarded angles? I would have chosen even numbers to work with, would be much easier IMO.

Make sure there is a nicely accessible d-ring loop or tie-down shackle on the outside and supply her with a long length of thin plastic-coated wire rope with loops crimped into either end. And a lock, or she can find her own. Now she can lock the case down, loop it to a nearby bench, rail, post, etc to prevent casual snatching.
