Hi, /diy/

Not sure if this is the right board to ask, but I'll try. So I have an old combine harvester and I would like to make it smartharvester (like a smartphone :--DD)
I would like to buy some of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10pcs-LJ12A3-4-Z-AY-Inductive-Proximity-Sensor-Detection-Switch-PNP-DC6-36V-/350689552443?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item51a6b9e83b and some temperature sensors and somehow make all the readings of these sensors appear on my Android smartphone or tablet. Is this doable? Is there a way to access these sensors from Android via USB or Bluetooth? If it is impossible, then there is Andruino?

In my dream I see me writing an app for tablet which would read the sensors and give me warnings if there would be too little or too much RPMs, or too high temperature.

Pic unrelated, just some close-up of welding
