Have you made money of D.I.Y.ing over and over?

>> No.5237

>>5165

yeah. I have made about $500 or so now. lol

>> No.5253

I have saved money a lot by making my own audio devices like amplifiers and such.

>> No.5267

I've sold a couple of stompboxes, so yeah.

>> No.5270

Yeah, I have made a lot. Probably about $500 like that other guy said.

I like to build and sell vocoders and stuff like that. Awesome stuff when you know how ;)

>> No.5275

>looks over to massive $5000 collection of books I funded completely on do it yourself activities I performed in day to day life

a bit, yeah

>> No.5293

>>5270
Vocoders? Analog or digital? Shit, I would have thought you'd make some more money given the trouble of building 'em.

>> No.5294

yeah, I made $2 fixing a cable. once I get my soldering skills right I shall start making some serious shit

>> No.5296

I've saved a lot of money building and fixing things myself. Haven't made the jump to making money. I supose I could have charged for the raised garden beds I build for my neibor, but really I just want more gardens in the area. Every extra garden someone else has makes mine that much less of a target.

>> No.5301

Digital. nah, its a little tricky; but still easy enough to be worth the cash. And to tell the truth, I have only made 3 or 4 of them. 5 if you include my one.

>> No.5302

The trick to making money on DIY is to get money from friends to do tasks you both mutually benefit from (ie you were going to have to do it anyway) and then use DIY tricks to come in under budget

then don't tell them you came in under budget

>> No.5318

oh, yeah, and I've been awarded lots of cannabis and sex for menial tasks like soldering cables. Is that profit as well?

>> No.5340

>>5318

A profit of sorts

>>5275

How in the fuck? Do you sell stuff online?

>> No.5709

Yeah.
Downloading and burning software on cd/dvd for the price of the disc involved.
They always insist on 'a little extra'.
I feel bad about it but then I go and buy some icecream.

Also fixing the computer of the neighbour's quite literally mentally challanged kid's always yielded a basket of eggs or some other thing.

>> No.5728

growing your own drugs for personal intake and selling the extras counts as DIY then yes.

>> No.5737

I own and operate a couple of massive speaker rigs that regularly tour some of the UKs best and biggest music festivals. So yeah, and I built them myself (mostly)

Not worth the effort or the money.

*To the person reporting anyone doing this.

>> No.5797

I do what >>5709 does. I'll burn some shit onto discs and sell them. I usually do video games, but I sometimes do music.

I wish I knew you two in person.
I could really use the reward money.

I do it for people whom I like. Except the retarded kid stuff, I was coerced into that by my parents since they were on good terms with his parents. Then I moved cca 240km away. Hah!
By the time I could afford a cd/dvd writer it was loooong past the time it was worth it as money making attempt.

>> No.5868

quite the opposite really.

when I do any type of handywork, it usually ends up exploding/overheating/crashing/dying in general.

I just like to tinker with things

Oh and it's not like the feds or corporates care about or can touch my third world ass.
