It's not about enhancing the bait. Humans are smelly creatures. We sweat, we have all kinds of various hormones that we release and they get over everything. What I heard WD40 does is wash off the "human" smell from the lure. Not a big deal when you throw a worm in the water, but a much bigger deal when all you have going for you is a piece of shiny metal that smells like human.

Plus, isn't one of the main ingredients in WD40 fish oil?

Melts ice inside frozen car door locks in the dead of Winter. Some of us oldbeards driving vintage cars still need to use keys to unlock our car doors. WD-40 will de-ice a frozen lock in a few seconds. Apart from that I don't like the stuff. 3-in-One lubricating oil in the can is far superiour. (pic related)
