Ok what does that do?
Where can I find step by step instructions on completing

Excedes the legal eirp limits for one. I would have expected Radiofag to know this.

This is not a board where you show up with some random old crap and ask us what you should do with it. Find a project you want to do, google how to do it, come to use only if you get suck or you want to show off your progress/results.

Turn it into a solar Death Ray.
Put some reflective material (aluminium foil, metalised mylar film,or a mosaic made with small pieces of mirror) onto the parabola and burn anything close to it's focal point. Always wear protective gogles and keep away from the focal point.

Yeaahh, those are not enforced. I'd rather he experiment with wifi than not with experiment.

It's a gateway drug into amateur radio.

>> No.495032

mirrors all over it and use it as a solar collector for a solar panel or fit a magnifying glass at the end for a solar death ray ( see Archimedes Death Ray )

You can fashion it with a wifi device and make a large Cantenna type wifi device collecting free wifi internet access from Mcdonalds etc. ( 2.4GHz ISM for wi-fi )

Always do a 1420 MHz radio telescope and hook it up to a laptop for night time fun finding the aliens that we keep disavowing knowledge of

cover it in plexiglass and put a directional microphone in the middle and listen to the next largest city near you

Start a larger cycled hendershot generator and power your house with it.

good luck anon, I am jealous of the challenge and multitude of things to craft with that

Put it up your ass and try and send information back to the aliens with it

the best thing one can do to an eyesore is to disassemble it for salvage value. the planet has been made ugly enough by such monstrosities.

If it still works you can get free satellite with it- godly!
If not, it makes a nice roof for a gazebo.

My wife blows me sometimes when I make something purdy for her, but I didn't think this board was the kind of board to announce that sort of stuff on.

Line it with shiny stuff and make a solar furnace

>> No.495119

I have the same dish op. I've been thinking
A) turn it facing straight up and build a chicken coop up in there
B) turn it facing straight up and put a table and chairs underneath it, fill it with dirt and grow grapes or blackberries up there so it was a little hangout spot
>>the fucking thing has its own concrete slab lol
C) solar still that makes moonshine with a parabolic mirror
>> need lots of copper pipe
D) patio idea like above but turn the cone upside down like a big met umbrella, grow wisteria up in there

>> No.495121

>>495097
Well im going to test it and see I havent tried it out in a while
But I doubt it still works

Thats why im a little stumped on what to do
I like the wifi biquad idea but I mean even then im more than capable of paying for wifi.

I want to see if it still is capable of receiving signals

Fuck you OP. I want one of those so badly.

Buy an SDR dongle, hook it up to a laptop, and do radio astronomy. That looks like a 10ft dish; you'd get so much gain out of that thing, it's not even funny.

Check to see if the LNBF assembly by the feedhorn still works.

Fuck man, a c-band dish of that size is a great jackpot of highly-directional radio fun.

>> No.495705

>>495697
This. I'd love to have a c-band dish with an actuator. Get a cheap dvb-s2 receiver and scan the skies for channels. With some time and patience you can get hundreds of channel and feeds.

this.

in fact the angle of parabola probably will make it more suitable for listening to jet liners, rocket aunches, the moon, etc

fuck yeah parabolic mirophone!
