The reality of building materials. One of the key problems is they leak like motherfuckers.

I helped my grandparents build one. It's fucking sweet and has held up magnificently. Choose your materials wisely and no problems should ensue?

Choice of building material and build quality. If you make it out of paper mache with inch wide gaps of course you are going to get leaks

How about yerts? Anyone here live in one of those?

I'm living in the house I built. It's still being built. I was originally a barn I built, but I needed an extra house on the property in a fast amount of time so I converted it.

My plan is to build a stone cottage with slate roof. I already have a few massive piles of stone I've collected over the years. although, my current projects are finishing the siding on my current house and adding a greenhouse made with free used patio doors attached to the house.

Now is a GREAT time to buy tax sale land or land in general. Tax sale land auctions are awesome.

Since they were mentioned in another thread I've really wanted to build a tumbleweed home. Been reading up on home construction since.

I am having a hard time finding acreage for sale in texas. Houston area. Everything I find is either insanely priced or has deed restrictions. Can anyone help me out or point me to a site that may have something useful. I just want an acre or 2. Not trying to pay a fortune.

I've seen fiberglass panel version you bolt together too, much easier to seal when it's up.
