>> No.4041

It's a vice i'm making.

I miss metalworking...

>> No.4049

No pics as it's down in the garage at the moment but I'm making a bushcraft knife. Just finished heat treating it, all that's left now is the secondary bevel and the handle, which is birch, I believe.

It's going pretty well, the curve on the top of the blade isn't very constant though - this saddens me.

>> No.4083

OP, are you making the vice at home?

>> No.4181

I made a stove this weekend

I'll upload somepics later today if this thread's still arround.

I made it with 2 3" pips to suck away the fuems, since one didn't work good..
a 4" pipe costed like 54 euro/meter and thats kinda expensive, its desgined to burn wood and stone coal.
with rubber it gets fully red hot, with wood like 30%, i didn't try coal yet so hmm (i just finished yesterday).
stay tuned for pics

Making a wall mount for my computer at the moment. My monitor is already mounted on an arm and pivots freely.

Flowmaster stickers are a must.

No pics as it's in the back garage, but I'm currently building a Honda CR500AF.

Basically, it's a Honda CRF250 four-stroke dirtbike frame modified to hold a two-stroke CR500 500cc engine.

It's called AF because the CRF250 has an aluminium frame. Honda stopped making the 500s in 2001 but they had steel frames and suspension from the late 80s, so an AF makes a fucking awesome racebike.

The bottle of wd-40 was for the clutch, if you didn't spray it constantly while stopped it would seize and kill the engine.
So many good times on that thing...

this is a door gun housing for the machine guns in blackhawk helicopters. First is the print of the final product. These were a huge bitch to make. Took hours and hours of machine time

That thing would be a fucking weapon
Also, a late model CR500 isn't too hard to come across. Honda stopped mass producing them but they are still out there. There was an 09' advertised in my local paper the other day.

my dad's friend owned a shop, he got me a job and I ended up having sort of a natural knack for it.

here's another part, don't remeber what it was, but the cutter was spinning at ~5000RPM feeding at ~30 inches per minute hogging off about 1/8" thick passes of heat treated stainless steel. If one of the chips hit your skin, it would instantly bring up a blister. Molten hot

I work at a laser cutting shop, and I've made a few 40x28 riot shields out of 20 ga galvanized. Folded it into shape on the press brake, still needs some padding on the inside. Certainly won't stop a bullet, but works against bricks and sticks.

Get some coolant on that. I have literally never seen a cnc mill make sparks like that plus you will get a bad surface finish if you dont use coolant

I"m now realizing that that is a terrible representation of authentic pieces. Sorry for any history nerds out there.
