Hey /diy/kes,
I want to built a crossbow because fuck guns my country doesn't allow guns ;_;

Also I've got no tools to work metal, so do you reckon a fully wooden crossbow is possible?

What kind of wood and tools do I need to build a crossbow? I'm not too bothered whether it's particularly powerful, I just want to fling bolts at targets in by back yard to piss my neighbours off with hours upon hours of "thud thud thud".

So, yeah.
Blueprints too pls.

>all wooden crossbow
Good luck, nigga.

For srs, all you need is a bit of elastic and a wooden cross. There are a lot of improvements that can be made, but a basic crossbow is really...not complicated.

That sounds horribly inaccurate and I doubt a design like that could get a bolt beyond the end of the cross...

Is a crossbow a weapon?

Hardly useful as one in today's world, is it?

>> No.389917

Well in Australia, we classify them as illegal due to being so silent. But then again, it's Australia and Soft-Air BB Guns can get you 10 years of Jail.

For a given value of horribly, yes it is (but no more than a bow&arrow in unskilled hands), but it definitely works, depending on string & bolt.

Point is....what does OP want?
Trigger? Winding reload? handle? What bolts? pellets? what sorta draw power?

A basic crossbow is just a wooden cross with something for string, it's a matter of what you want to add to that....

Everything's illegal in Australia.

OP here.
A trigger with pull back reload,
About 35 LBS,
Wooden bolts.

>Do not post instructions for how to make weapons or any device that might bring harm to a person. Think "Instructables" and "Make Magazine" not "Anarchist's Cookbook."

Considering the number of crossbows on instructables, that is horribly vague.
