Hey /diy/, Me and my University room mates are getting ourselves a dart board for our apartment but we cannot put nails into, or, damage the wall. Any suggestions on the best way to put up the dart board without damaging the wall?

Thanks :)

>> No.370785

supposing you managed this feat, what about all the holes caused by darts that missed the dartboard?

put it on a stand

I don't think you should be wasting your time at uni, you seem to lack any logical or spatial thinking

A surrounding wall protector comes with the dart board which you just placed around the dart board to stop any stray darts hitting the wall or door.

'Put it on a stand' Okay genius, well if you read the original post it clearly states that we would like the Dart Board to go up on the wall. We also do not have a suitable stand and I believe that building a stand or buying one would be A) Too much hassle B) Too expensive C) Take up too much room.

>> No.370795

get a large plywood board that runs to the floor, put some feet on it, place it against the wall, make it pretty if you want

mount dart board to much larger board, no worry about stray dart holes

Thank you for giving an actual suggestion. We have considered this but we think it may take up too much room and be difficult to quickly remove if the landlord comes by :)

lol there are people that follow that rule?

I would think the landlord would appreciate this amount of effort to protect his/her property.

Beyond that my only other suggestions would require much more effort to build, sorry.

OP, go to the store and get you some of these. Either find some that support about 7 pounds, or some that you can use a couple of.

Just get off /diy/, you can make a stand that will lie flush against the wall and out of scrap wood

'Get off /diy/' Oh what a great advert you are for this message board. Is this /b/?

unless it's 10 feet by 10 feet, it wont help. drunk college students and darts is a recipe for destruction.

This is definitely an option we will be looking into, hopefully the hardware store around the corner will have more than enough to hold it up without marking the walls. Thanks.

go to a hoby or crafts store (hobby lobby) and buy a large corkboard to place behind the dart board... thats what i do... and i mount the score board too it on the side.

Yes, because we WANT tards with zero ability to do ANYTHING to flock to this board asking us to do everything for them then pass off our suggestions as being too difficult.

'Zero ability to do ANYTHING'... No, I may not be very good at building 'Dart board stands' But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a reasonably short career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop being a total dick, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

hang a large cork board up behind it.

protip: use nails then paint over the holes when you move

>> No.370857

just use a nail, use regular white toothpaste to fill the hole before leaving.

Get a long table and flip it vertically, doubles as a back board.

>> No.371279

>>370780

rare earth magnets, refrigerator
super glue, wall
two poles, duct tape, and a sponge (to keep board from scraping wall), wall
a pole, a ceiling lamp or something else that comes out of the ceiling, and a rope. attach the rope's middle to the ceiling fixture. tie each end of the rope to either end of the pole. attach dart board to pole

just be creative

also, "NO HOLES IN WALLS" means no fucking darts. don't blame us when the landlord get fucking pissed at all the tiny holes fucking everywhere.

This is the best solution, it's not even difficult in the slightest.
