I wanna make home made toothpaste but everything I get on Google seems to coarse and crappy.

I'd get Toms but they were bought by Colgate and I've heard reports of sores in people's mouths who use the all natural kind since.

baking soda, and a pinch of peroxide if you are so inclined, add a drop or two of mint extract to make it less terrible.

I use a mixture of baking soda, ground up multivitamin, ground up calcium tablets, clove leaf essential oil, and prescription-grade fluoride gel.

The baking soda is for cutting action and raising the pH level. The fluoride, multivitamins and calcium are for helping to remineralize section of teeth where there's no enamel to protect them. I brush with this, use mouthwash, then brush a second time, and floss. I spit it out, but I don't rinse it out for an hour or more (to help with remineralization).

My last batch, I added some regular toothpaste to it just to try how it would work out and I think I'll skip that next time.

It is gritty, but makes my teeth feel super smooth. My dentist said my teeth are looking better the last time I was in a couple weeks ago.

Shenet describes many interesting points and recipes for toothpaste.

If in chrome: rightclick > "translate to english". I will actually try this myself someday and then I might return with results, my interests are in making directly from nature ~ if possiburu.

You actually add fluoride to it?
shiggity

I hope you realize that it breaks down minerals and actually weakens bones and enamel.

Only if you are drinking it. Using it on your teeth to help remineralize them is okay. It is also prescription which means I'm supposed to be using it as ordered by my dentist. It helps break down minerals for the remineralization process.

Consumable oil + baking soda.

Make sure it's properly oiled and don't brush too hard because it's gritty.

I'd rather trust the advice of a dentist than of an organization, being as any organization must take strict precautions (more so than your average dentist) on rules as to prevent lawsuits.

> inb4 dentists can also get sued, being as this /diy/ is probably your average male who would never be brought so low to sue; therefore his dentist wouldn't mind being straight with him.

All dentists must be part of a dental organization in order to practice legally.

Toothpaste is useless, brushing with plain water works just as well:
