Need to invent a simple invention that is easy to make, solves a simple problem you have. Need it to pass my engineering class counting on you /diy/!

Yeah, you're make a great engineer.

that's what school is supposed to do.

You only design what your told to design.
It pretty much kills intelligence.

Name a problem you have. Anything. A minor irritation. Come on.

Already been done. I'm posting to it right now.

If you can't look around and find some problem that needs fixing, something you can't say "what moron thought THAT was a good design?" to, you arent engineering properly. Start there, then figure out a way to fix the problem.

It's a problem for me, way bigger than a minor irritation.

Thats not a problem, its an ideological conflict. Gtfo trying to be a smartass, invent your own fucking shit, no one will help you with that attitude.

Only $20? Forget money. If you make a box that does that, I'll pay you in sandwiches.

sigh. engineering, today, is about 'tell me what to do and i will do it'. it really has changed; older engineers were a sort fo bridge between physics and design and problem solving, and usually had shittons of ideas, but worked on what was the project at employer.

now eng. schools seem to train cubicle jockeys to make widgets out of licensed IP to embed in a larger project and eng's who have no dive or desire to MAKE SHIT and SOLVE WEIRD INTERESTING PROBLEMS.

sadly, OP appears to be one of them.

make a fucking rocket motor or something. don't you have any personal interests? quests? questions? curiosity? wtf?

this weekend i make a 'haptic torch' that allows you to "see" a room by feel (ultrasonic sensor, some code to calc a logarithmic response, and a vibrating motor). was some ART GUY's idea from 2003. it fkn works. It was interesting. an ARTIST did that shit.

itt: what is wrong with america today. i do assume you are american.
