I use them for gardening. I save up a couple months worth, and just before winter starts to thaw out, I fill them with dirt and start seeds in them, planting the whole tube in the soil. It just needs to keep it's shape for a couple weeks before you stick it in the ground so if you don't go overboard with the watering, the tube will hold up, and then once it's in the ground, it will break down and it gives the seedling a nice tall root structure to start out with.
