Sup, /diy/

I want to make costume of no-face from spirited away

Any ideas on how to do the mask?

Pic related, its no-face

>> No.29738

1. cut out a circle
2. make the rest of the damn mask.

>narrow-ish balloon
>papier mache

Shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks, Mell. Wouldn't have thought of a balloon

this dude at new york comic con two years ago had a huge fucking no-face cosplay that was awesome. i'm not entirely sure how he did it but he towered over everyone but could totally do that creepy lean down look right at your eyes thing. the entire mechanism was hidden beneath the black robe-y thing.

As for the mask you can probably use cardboard and spraypaint.

Adam Savage (MB dude) did this at (I think it was San Diego) Comic Con. The mask itself looks like it's got some heft like it's resin or something a little more substantial than paper mache.

You can easily make a mold for resin out of paper, and as for resin just grab a $20 can (the HUGE one) of bondo at an auto parts store.

Link with tons of pics here. http://whatsnext.blogs.cnn.com/2011/07/23/adamincognito-2011-lasted-for-30-minutes/

Good luck, I'd like to see how it turns out! There might be more details on a good build of this at the RPF.
