My parents townhouse complex just had all their stairs and all their retaining wall and other wood thingies replaced by a pair of polish sounding older contractors over two months, 50 units, and all these two guys had was ryobi cordless and dewalt corded tools. Both of them drove shitbox vans. All tools beat to shit. It was a mid 6 figure contract...

Wait, am I missing something? The drill can be used also a normal drill, as the hammer function can be easily turned off. It has two speeds - high torque with low speed and low torque with high speed. I am not sure what exactly you mean, as I've used it as a general purpose drill so far and it's been working great. High speed, no hammer for screwdriving, high torque and hammer for drilling non-precise holes, high torque without hammer for drilling precise holes.

Am I doing something wrong?

Impact driver and hammer drill are 2 different things. Impact driver is mainly just for screwing things quickly and it makes a loud brrrrrrrp when you reach the end from the impact thingy. Hammer drill is a regular drill with hammer mode for doing concrete and such.

Metabo is a consistent high quality brand, every tool they sell is good. They have no "bad" tools in the lineup whatsoever. That's because they're relatively small with leadership which sets company guidelines for quality.
Their pricing for the performance you get is also pretty much universally good to great.

Especially the angle grinders of metabo are arguably some of the best on the market.

Bosch, both the professional and normal, have various tools with severe design flaws which fail prematurely.
Bosch lives of ancient "made in germany" boomer sentiment, it's an old big brand, that's why people buy it.
It is, however, not actually a good brand.
Bosch has reached a gigantic size for a company and has the typical gigantic company management issues which prevent them from actually being consistently good. Nobody is able to actually steer at a company that size.

The entire picture is a meaningless, obvious troll.

That's good to hear, then! I bought Metabo initially mostly due to a few positive anecdotes, the Made in Germany stamp and the great price. I purchase all of my tools directly from Germany and they usually cost me 50-60% of what I'd usually have to pay in my country (Bulgaria). But that's due to the resellers being pricks if anything. My 200 euro Metabo angle grinder is currently selling for close to 340 euro in Bulgaria. The same exact one. Sure, I had to pay a 15 euro delivery fee, but this is still preferable to being more or less robbed by those scammers.

And what about their battery powered tools, are they any good? I've only tried their corded tools so far.

Not only that, but Robert Bosch was also a part of an organization equivalent to the ADL in the US. He was also really against anti-Semitism. He has played the good Jew card during the Nazi reign as a means of self-preservation.

>And what about their battery powered tools, are they any good? I've only tried their corded tools so far.

I got a BS 18 L BL Q cordless drill, super happy. It has that QUICK feature to pull of the chuck, which shortens and lightens the drill dramatically, making even a powerful medium sized 18V drill suitable for light stuff like assembling furniture and it really helps getting in awkward places.
Still handles 8x180mm wood screws no problem in low gear as well, so covers all my usecases without needing 2 drills.
Haven't really seen any other drill from another brand that could do the same desu.

Also got a STA 18 LTX 100 jigsaw, they have a larger 140 but the 100 already has way more power than I can imagine needing, really well made.

I also got a small cordless highspeed drill from metabo, the BE 18 LTX 6. It's a total niche tool, no other manufacturer seems to make something like it.
It's a high rpm drill (5000 rpm) metabo advertises it for the metal working industry, drilling small (up to 6mm) holes in steel and such, maybe for riveting or something it could replace air tools.
What I use it for is 99% pre-drilling small holes in wood for woodscrews.
Often when I build stuff out of wood, I use a lot of long thin woodscrews and pre-drill it with long, thin drillbits. Really cuts down on cracking and let's you push that construction technique a bit more for building workshop furniture and such.
Ofc a cordless drill can do that, but most max out at like 1600-1800 rpm, which sucks for 2-3-4-5 mm wood drills.
And you kinda want 2 tools anyways to not have to swap all the time.
According to metabo it can do up to 10mm in wood, but I drilled 30mm forstner bits into pine with it no problem, but it is a rather light, low torque tool.

Some random crappy picks from my projects folder: https://imgur.com/a/iKlAdpN
That's actually all the metabo tools I have, I just got 4.

Dremel isn't a company that caters to professionals AT ALL, they're a company which is 100% dedicated to the hobbyist market.
In the professional space, you have a big-ass motor hung up above the workbench with a 1-1.5m long flexible shaft attached to it, these things have existed for decades and last forever.
Less weight in the hand, less girth, more torque.

For heavier use die grinders exist.

Milwaukee had an issue with the original gear case being too hardened and not properly tempered, a compromise they didn't think about when they increased the speed and reduced the side. Original part number is 14-29-5377 where the anvil would seize and teeth would break and shatter. Smoke was also common. They quietly changed the design in late 2023 and the new part number is 14-29-5370. Any of the impact drivers of this gen4 that is coming in for warranty has the part swapped regardless. The service center said they made the change at the factory level in December 2023. Check serial numbers, 2024 models should be fine. Any serial that doesn't start with M67A24 is a ticking Murphy's Law impact driver, inevitably will fail in the exact same way as most of these have failed for over two years.

I have two metabo tools: a cordless drill/driver and a planetary-gear die grinder
Both of them have ludicrous amounts of runout. I can't even polish stuff well with the die grinder because it chatters uncontrollably. For any real task I bust out my $30 chief air die grinder from HF, which somehow manages to be more concentric than the $150 metabo garbage.

The drill is underpowered and the chuck attachment method is stupid. The beat up milwaukee at work is way better.

Are you very retarded or mildly retarded and making up bad lies? All metabo die-grinders have ER style double slit precision ground collets, aluminium spindle housings and precision ball bearings. For them to have any runout past 0,01mm is unthinkable.
You're probably using low-quality attachments or somehow ripped the collet out of the captive nut and not re-seated it properly.

The metabo drill lineup covers anything from tiny 12V for assembling furniture to 130Nm monster drills for assembling large timber installation. If yours is underpowered you bought wrong, which is your fault since the metabo catalogue tells you SPECIFICLY what drill size can handle which drill and screwing job.
