I got a new roof 3 months ago and added some venting while they were at it. Half of the roof is now covered by solar panels.
As it’s getting warmer in SoCal, I’m keeping an eye on attic temps because I know it will make my AC ducting hotter and make AC work harder.
Im curious what is a temp that would alarm you to the point or let putting in a whole house fan or one those active roof fans.

let me guess, techie with more money than brains.
You bought yourself a piece of shit house that literally has no insulation, like literally everyone else in your neck of the woods.
Enjoy your hot as fuck summers followed by deathly smoke. Your house could be kicked down by children if they wanted to. there is no structure. Your entire existence is built upon the imaginary spending of elites into risky businesses that are no longer going to exist in no due time because of interest rates.

Your house will either burn down, or burn you inside of it. You and your people are a plague on this earth. May you do with that you will. But you are fucked, saaar.

Well that's a bit harsher than I was expecting.

Yes, it's expensive to live here.
Yes, I happen to be a tech worker
No, I'm not in a fire zone.
The home is a 1959 single story home that needed a lot of work when I bought it 2 years ago.
There is some old blown in insulation in the attic but likely needs replacement.

If I didn't have significant help from my parents - who begged me to not move to another city - I would've been in Utah or Nevada right now.

but seriously if the attic is properly insulated. normal venting is fine.
