when these tanks are being made
how do they weld the welds without exploding themselves?

Gas is frozen into a solid “puck” which will thaw and turn back to gas during the weld process

Maybe at the factory you work at. In mine, the assembly line goes into a giant vacuum-sealed room where the welding robot is and there’s no oxygen in a vacuum chamber so an explosion can’t happen.

Multiple ways to fry an egg I guess.

>how do they weld the welds without exploding themselves?
They power the welder with cold electricity which welds the metals with extreme cold instead of heat. Sort of like how your finger sticks to things that are really cold.
The reason why they don't do that for all welding is because it's more expensive.

takes place underwater

hmm i dunno retard. maybe they add the gas AFTER they construct the tank?

>> No.2778708

But how do they get it in there?

This is stupid. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

>> No.2778729

>>2778640
if that were possible you wouldn't need to weld the tank in the first place.

Magnets. But how do they work?

>> No.2778787

>>2778640
Thats unpossible.

>> No.2778809

They do not weld them, they sew them.

>> No.2778820

>>2778640
Impossible because the tank would have to be magnetized

my uncle was a cold-welder for john deere and you are talking out your ass

cold welding is literally only more expensive for retarded garage welding yuppies who pay the liquid nitrogen tax

In case anyone hasn’t realized they will take any tank as trade for a full one. So instead of buying a new tank, score a free rusty boi somewhere and trade it in. Also Op should try and weld 2tankstogether as penance for creating this thread.

They're actually turned on a lathe and hollowed out, the "seam" is just glued on for looks. It's not even metal. That way when someone tries to reverse engineer it to steal all the tank sales it won't work right for them.

We don't know where you came from or what you are trying to accomplish.
If you just move on you will find something more productive and meaningful to your limited time in life.
Good luck with everything!

They put the two piece of tank together and weld them then install the valve. Then they pressurize the tanks and put them under water to detect leaks. If they pass then most companies vacuum purge the tank to remove any air. That valve is an opd valve so it will not open if you turn on the tank unless the plunger inside the valve is pressed in. I have no idea what the fuck people are talking about cold welding and all that shit.

Yes. 100%. There’s no way it’s physically possible to weld the tanks and then fill them with gas afterwards. My mom’s boyfriend works at the propane tank assembly plant.
