Flash is dying. It will remain a popular choice for in-browser games for a while, but thanks to Apple (blocking it on iOS) and Adobe (discontinuing support on Linux) it is slowly going the way of the dodo. Not to mention that native browser techniques are much faster and offer more functionality in modern web browsers.

I can imagine a developer who is stuck with supporting IE6/7/8 might favour Flash, but the future of web applications and websites has no Flash in it.

The smallest annual growth from flash gaming revenue in the last 5 years was 34%.
I admit to knowing nothing about the video side of things, or whether it's even possible to gather stats on that......but it's pretty clear virtual goods are where the money's at anyways.
Browser based games are on the up and up, and flash is the choice for anything advanced, html cannot compare functionality wise, no matter what microsoft says. The reason apple resist flash is related to battery usage...ultimately their hardware can't keep up with advanced flash apps, it isn't evidence against flash anymore than not being able to play Skyrim on iPhone is evidence against windows.

But like the other anon stated HTML5 is a little ways away from being complete give it a few years and it will have a lot more implemented.
