How could i re-organize this room? I feel like the layout is a mess but I can't come up with a decent layout for the life of me

Having your couch and storage/tools connecting together feels wrong. Try separating some furniture to make "zones" for different activities. It'll give things a sense of organization and belonging in a shared space.

Try using something like Visio or LibreOffice Draw to make scale diagrams of your space and the objects in it (just use basic shapes with the correct dimensions) and lay out your space. You can move stuff around endlessly. Or you know you can use graph paper and cut out shapes to do the same thing.
