I got something similar to picrel, I need to find a good priced generator that has a 20 amp socket so I can actually do my welding shit. Anyone have recommendations on "cheap" (Around $500-600 range) generator

Get a harbor freight one with a coupon. Mines been fine. The quality of the power won't be as nice as a proper inverter generator but you're looking to cheap out so sacrifices must be made.

Where are you using the thing? I mean if your breaker panel is in the garage, it would be easy to add a 240V outlet.

What other anon said, you could snag whatever Predator from HF, maybe a 4000W model? Also if you have a Costco membership, check them out. Home Depot has some too and they pop up on the “Deal of the Day” once every couple weeks for pretty cheap.

Costco has a 3600W Generac for $499, and that’s a pretty good brand that you will be able to find parts for easily in the future. They have some Firman brand I’ve never heard of for like $100 less.

That $400-$600 range, you can find a ton of gasoline non-inverter like 3000W-6000W portable generators. So figure out your priorities… more power or local availability or parts availability or cost or brand/reliability. If you can find something with a Honda engine in that price range, jump on that, but nothing wrong with a Briggs engine or Generac and even the no-name small engines like that will run hundreds of hours.

For example you just wasted space uploading offtopic garbage.

I can't believe I'm sorta defending the village idiot, but he is OUR village idiot, so I have to point out that you are the newest of newfags if you aren't familiar with the biggest attention whore on 4chan.

I’ve messed with generators a bit and contributed real advice to this thread so…

This was an old Generac that came out of somebody’s backyard. Gave her a lil TLC and ran great. Was surprised by parts availability which is why I don’t mind shilling for Generac, plus a lot of the parts were sort of standard sizes like the dead oil pressure sensor was replaced with one from Advance Auto, starter battery from Northern Tool, Fram oil filter…

If we assume chinks scam which of these chink machines is less scam?

Running welders off generators is a little tough.

No one in this thread has done it much, because no one has pointed out you need a bigger generator than you think to have your arcs start nice.
I run my 110v lincoln buzz box off a 5500w inverter genny. I bought it used.

>> No.2731156

>>2730792

Shut the fuck up.
This may not be wrong, but you have no perspective on and havent offered good info to someone trying to run a welder

A 3600w non inverter genny will be a waste of OPs money.
