Cheap, hollow door. Apartment. Yeah, stop sleeping in such cheap construction. And stop forgetting your keys.

I mean if you want to he a cheap asshole instead of just buying a new door you could get some wood glue and a bottle with a long thin nozzle and squirt it in there and clamp it. I wouldn't recommend it but it would work.

>Cheap, hollow door.

Nobody puts mortise locks in hollow core doors, retard, this is just what happens when the thin face created by a mortise lock pocket blows out from forced entry.

Happens to very high quality solid doors with single point latching mortise boxes too, it's a weak point. That's why many mortise locks have large beefy escutcheon plates that extend past the pocket on both sides of the door and through- bolt to each other as reinforcement against forced entry.

It's also why picrel exists, which is the only reasonably secure solution OP has to avoid buying a new door.

Just because you’re re-using something doesn’t make you a cheap asshole. Or maybe it does but who cares? Why spend extra money on a new door when you can repair the old one easily?

That's is 100% a hollow door. Cheap particle board frames doesn't a solid door make.

It's POSSIBLE to fix almost anything.
Can YOU do it? Since you had to ask, I doubt it.
