Different brand, but I dropped one of these and it exploded violently. The metal snapped as it unraveled, breaking into pieces. There is no way for me to ravel it back and I’m going to have to rent a dumpster just for this fucking metal string because it won’t fit into the garbage can.

This tool works, but Jesus Christ, if it fails your day is ruined.

fish tape can separate the men from the boys. an electrician that cant fish a wire will forever be soft handed. but yeah they absolutely suck ass when the housing breaks, i usually coil up the biggest lengths and keep them for fishing small wire behind a wall.

>> No.2677455

Just break it into smaller pieces that will fit. Or drive trough a poor neighborhood and toss it from your window.

You two obviously haven't had the pleasure of Milwaukee's nylon coated twisted metal fish tape, have fun with your fiberglass splinters though.

Only goes up to 50ft, chud. When your going through conduits that are 100s of feet long, fiberglass just ain’t gonna cut it.

You started with the chud shit because you're ignorant as hell.

Would need a cutoff disc. They're harder steel than your pliers. Could probably tape it up a couple times.

Easily find the 500' little buddy for small conduits. Here's this for bigger conduits.

if your running conduits you just shoot some mule tape down with compressed air
you can fire that shit down thousands of feet of conduit its got a 3k lb pull rating

>> No.2680655

>>2680635
I do the same for the big runs. I make a ball out of tape to fit the conduit to get the compressed air a better chance of pushing the mule tape. I have done the same with para cord and various other things.

>> No.2680720

>>2680635
I wish I could get that here in Europoorland. The fashionable thing round these parts is crimping a brass bullet like tip to your cable (conduit caliber, i.e. bigger than the cable) and then forcing the cable through with a ridiculously expensive (~10k Euros) compressed air gadget that forces the bullet tip through the conduit on a head of compressed air. Hence there's no mule tape to be had. Though it surely looks like one could substitute the plastic tape used to seal cardboard crates in a pinch.

If youre.not doing a 5000nft long subdued run at a time, a vacuum with a bucket of hetline works for establishing the path.

Then you replace the jetline with muletape.

Little foam plugs pictured here are only good in brand new perfect conduit, otherwise just using someone ziplock snack bag works great because it can go over obstacles
