Hey /diy/. I'm want to make "super suit".
What I've been thinking is kevlar covered with a non-Newtonian shear thickening fluid like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYIWfn2Jz2g&feature=related
How would i go about making shear thicking fluid?
Would it be smart to have some sort of impact foam underneath? What kind of foam is best?
What about some sort of non-lethal weapons?

You'll need a 100ml Stainless Steel (or Iron, but I found this first) Lab Planetary Ball Mill Grinding Jar w/ Ball Media, with you will fill about 1/3 full with your silica.

And

You'll also need a desk top vibratory shaker high energy mixer ball mill, which will run you around $3,000.

Make sure your shaker and grinding jar are compatible. That will get your silica particles small enough. There is probably even a chart somewhere online that will tell you approximately how long to run your mill to get silica that small

Also if you do actually do this, which I doubt you will, wrap a rubber band around your mill jar. It will keep the jar from popping open when you are taking it out of the mixer.

LOL obviously you have never used a ball mill. You are not going to be pulverizing silica in plastic. You can even pulverize silica in agate, well you could but it would take forever. Also, some rickety turd you build from an old drill motor, etc., will have about 5 grams of silica pulverized maybe before the motor dies...

think logically, buy bike armour you know, the stuff they have to make up to a certain product standard to deal with high impact and abrahasive wear, just buy one with a spine brace then customise it from there, you can get some really decent one then just add carbon fiber plates or other shit to it

If you just want to feel more confident, just drink alcohol or dope up on pcp. You'll scare the shit out of anyone when you chew through your leg just so you can slap them with your foot. No one will fuck with you, and it'll be cheaper than a fagotron suit

I don't deny that armor is necessary if you want to go 'crimefigthing'. You don't want to die from something stupid like a gunshot or stab. Still, a suit won't make you a badass. If you can't fight for shit they will just punch you in the face and laugh at you.
