Check your fuses
Check grounds starting from the actuator going forward, there should be one right off the battery in the trunk
Do your hazards work?
Do the front lights blink?

Everything's good. Grounds, fuses, relays... All the lights work except for the rear right blinker. The funny thing is, every once in a rare while, it will just start working on its own, but only for that trip. Cannot figure out what the deal is.

Have you replaced the bulb and socket?
A bulb and socket are cheap and the first culprit with an intermittent taillight, I'd replace them right away just to be totally confident it's not the problem.

you probably are low on blinker fluid. check the reservoir and top it off

How are you sure it's not the socket? Have you put a multimeter on it and watched for the current to swap from (mine is 4.8v) to 0v? I had this exact same problem in my land cruiser, but i was getting a lower voltage to the bulb than I should have been (2.2 rather than 4.8) and after fucking with it for a full afternoon, cutting and replacing the socket solved the problem in the amount of time it takes to strip 2 wires and heat up a solder splice sleeve.

I bet you have a wiring fault in the rear SAM harness somewhere. Everything in front is CANBUS to the rear where then the rear SAM applies power to the circuit in question.

taillight problems are often the ground. One thing to look for is when you have the taillights on, if hitting the brakes or the turn signal will turn the taillight lamp off. That indicates a bad ground, as the brake/blinker power is traveling back up the ground wire of the taillight lamp, putting 12v on both sides of the filament, stopping electrical flow. LED taillights or a separate amber blinker on the back may complicate this.
