Where were you when you learned Wera is a social media brand and not a legit tool company and Ridgid beats Milwaukee?

No one is applying that much force on a wrench for anything but retarded purposes.

>No one using Wera is applying that much force on a wrench, they’re designed for Reddit unboxing videos
ftfy

I had to pull apart some stainless steel fittings at work the other day. Bif mother fuckers. I ended up using a 6 ft cheater pipe and a Crecent wrench . Proto crecent wrench.

i generally think these sorts of tests are good proxies for overall quality but you are exactly right, youtube reviewers always stress test tools in a way that no normal person will ever recreate. They also fail to ever be statistically valid results as they do stupid shit like use the same single tool for a whole regimen for testing (though i understand not buying 30 wrenches of each brand to test).

its like comparing cars based on how much force is required to rip a door off the vehicle

proto is a chad brand

Wera is good because they sell quality tool sets/organizers, and their tools don't rust basically at all. I worked with 2 of their toolsets, toolcheckplus+ and so on in salty canada this winter. all my other tools rusted to shit instantly but wera's held up fine. most of them are also compact and come in organizers, very fucking useful

Exactly. The same thing happened big time with knoife testing, destruction tests go so retarded that makers started producing sharpened pry bars instead of knives. I don't care if you can produce a knife that an elephant can use as a step to climb a fucking wall, I want a tool that works well for its intended purpose. Same happens with wrenches or spanners, there's more to their quality than the amount of force they'll withstand.
Also bepis post the weight on the different tools tested, it'd be interesting to see if there's a direct correlation between weight/strength.

but this test seems kinda fair.

imagine a rusted nut you can only access with a box end because shitty engineering.
the hazet may remove it while the wera does not.

>tfw the company's tool department buys all wera because they think its fancy jet never work with it.

Nah dude. They test rounded stuff too. Open ended wrenches often slip before they loosen a really tight fastener, and one that holds up to a lot more pressure is going to save your ass IRL. This isn’t a stress test using the wrench laterally as a pry bar or something.

Wera tries to reinvent the wheel and then launches a social media campaign and you gotta feel sorry for the tradesmen that actually get sucked into the Facebook ads.

Wow, Wera really is mediocre for the price. I better bump this to save anons from making a horrible purchase!
