Insane levels of interior humidity. Anything cold inside the house will sweating huge amounts of condensation. Your HVAC registers when the AC is on, all your water pipes, your refrigerator, your windows at night, the basement slab and foundation walls... and all that condensation is going to be soaking in to the drywall, framing, insulation, etc. Perfect conditions for mold, mildew, and rot.

Also the gigantic thermal mass of it will make you HVAC system have to work a billion times harder to heat & cool the house.

>>2563398
>slab cracks from weight it was never meant to handle
That's actually one thing that's highly unlikely to happen. Most slab failures happen either because of hydro-static pressure pushing upwards on them, or because of a huge load concentrated at one point. Something like this that is spread out over a large surface area isn't likely to cause any problems, the slab just transfers that load to the ground below it.

Not those guys but those usually have covers which keep them warm and they also keep the tub from evaporating. That's a significant amount of water to drain and fill every time you use it but I guess it's not completely out of the question.

Hot tubs have insulated covers that hold the humidity and heat in. They're not just left uncovered full of steaming hot water all the time. If you did, all the materials in your basement would be constantly saturated with moisture.

>If you drain the pool everytime you use it its fine
That pool is at least 2,000 gallons, filling & draining that is an all day ordeal.

This was posted here long ago and someone shopped the pic into a morgue with a body on the slab.

I commented that it looks like a construction guy who either inherited the house or had a divorce and hauled scavenged stuff from jobs and had his buddies come over on weekends to slap shit together and paid them in beer.

Another poster said that he saw that happen to a house and knew the guy and that was exactly how it came to be.

Especially the beer.

My house was turned back over to the bank and a similar situation happened, they did the absolute minimum to pass a walk through inspection, tiled over rotten floorboards, perched the toilet in place, 60% of the outlets had reversed polarity, etc etc

the pattern of pinholes on one wall from where they hung the dartboard next to the bar was pretty funny

Fortunately, The repairs were affordable and it ended up OK.

Looking at it, there may be a genuine reason for it.

Water flowing straight down was too noisy, so they put in the spirals to slow it down. Turns out there was that vent/box in the way so they had to put in a bend to get around it, then they had to keep doing the spirals again and join it back with the drain.

The metal plate is maybe not the best choice with that type of outlet, but those Despard setups were pretty common in the '60s.

They could also be set up as a triple device, which can be a fuckin nightmare to deal with... I've seen three 3-way switches crammed into a single gang box before. Box fill limits were calculated by whether you could mash all the wires in without breaking anything.

It was. Fuckers poured a sackrete shower pan over the linoleum. It leaked (of course) like crazy, killed the main level ceiling, and shit up the house with mold. I sprayed some mold block, and let it dry out for a day.
I put in a new piece of sub floor, and a low level Delta shower surround. Niggers are the tenants, so they’re basically immune to mold
