I installed a glass railing very similar to this in someones new house a few years ago. it was anchored to the steps and a stainless steel post at the top and bottom on the staircase.

it was two pieces of 10mm tempered that were also fastened together. it was stupid looking as you might imagine but was sturdier than it looked. I dont think it would have held up to a 250lb person falling into it but you could safely lean on it and it had no give. the real problem is the hitting the edge of the glass is vulnerable to blowing the whole thing up

Door at an office I did some work at. You grab the oversized handle thinking that it pulls open, only to realize you need to push it, but look closely... Pushing it immediately slams your knuckles against the sharp aluminum frame.

Reminds me when I worked at Walmart years ago doing oil changes and tires.

>”what’s this fee?!”
>”sir, that’s a disposal fee for your oil.”
>”baaah I just dump mine in the backyard when I do it at home!”

>”what’s this fee?!”
>”sir, that’s a disposal fee for your tires”
>”baaah you guys are just selling them used somewhere else! I’m taking my tires with me, you aren’t getting your little commission!”
>wanting to beat old man to death because Walmart was NOT giving me any commission especially for some bald ass used tires

Probably hands down the most frustrating experience was when an old woman came in to get four new tires and had some old man in tow who was a “friend” helping her out. He was a complete asshole to me and convinced her I was on commission (what’s with the geezers and commission?) and I was up selling her. What was the exorbitant product I was trying to pawn off on this poor lady? Balancing of new tires.
>IVE NEVER IN MY LIFE GOTTEN MY TIRES BALANCED!!
>…uh, ok sir

Most satisfying exchange I ever had

>closing up shop
>back door to automotive from parking lot locked
>hours clearly stated on door
>fifteen minutes after closing time
>me and coworker cleaning up shop before heading home
>random asshole with young daughter starts pounding on door
>open door, “may I help you sir?”
>”ARE YOU CLOSED?!
>…”yes sir we closed at seven”
>…”WALMART IS CLOSED?!?!”
>”we’ll no sir, but automotive is”
>”YOU JUST LOST YOURSELF A SALE BUDDY!
>daughter completely dead from embarrassment staring at her shoes
>asshole starts to storm off
>”HEY THATS FINE PAL MY PAYCHECK IS THE SAME SIZE EITHER WAY!!
>slam automotive door
>asshole turns to glare at me through locked door then slinks away

It was absolutely exhilarating to finally tell one of these assholes off. Guy never showed though.

Tempered, untempered or laminate?
I know fuckall about construction stuff but my understanding is that there is a considerable difference between the properties of those three glasses.
Tempered even though it may feel sturdy it's vulnerable to stress concentration and may fail spectacularly due to a compromised edge or stress at the mounting point.
Untempered will cause the hollywood death shards but won't break off all at once. Your wife might even prick her finger when picking up the shards.
And laminate will flop over if ever broken. which can happen much more easily than the other two as it's softer for any given thickness.
Glass bannisters just seem like an overall unnecessary pain for the privilege of having visitors seeing my hairy ankles.

>flushing needs more water making it an eco thing to install something different
fun fact, in europe, semi-older houses were often built with DN110 HT because toilets often had upto a 9L flushing cistern. In the 2000-2010s, people replaced their toilets to be more ecofriendly and adjusted the cistern to 4.5-6L of water, which results in the water level not being high enough for shit to actually being flushed out the sewage. Newer houses that were built around that time don't have that problem because their sewage pipes have been adjusted to the pipe diameter DN80.

Well you start 20 years ago and you put up 1 288 fiber. Then you had 12 drops and then you got a realn op reject coming through.so you add another case so you have more ports to splice onto. Now you get some techs that start weaving some spaghetti drops in there because they're fucjing retarded. Now you can't take the splice down, all future work had to be done in situ. No reaso to treat the slack nice. It's already spaghetti. Just Crack the case open, shove a new cable in there and leave.

Continue for 10 more years, add another 288 or 576 fiber.

To clean it up you'd need like 2 or 3 months of work. Best thing would be if someone ran into it with a dump truck. Everyone would be put of service. There'd be good excuse to cut it all out and start over. Only the people still in service will complain their shit isn't working. Still probably 2 weeks of work for 4 people

I once tore open an exterior wall that had seven studs in a seven foot space. Most of them were doubled up because not a single one hadn't been compromised by bizarrely run plumbing. It was probably ok, but it looked ugly as fuck. I ended up rebuilding the entire section and relocating the plumbing. Who puts plumbing in a poorly insulated exterior wall?

>Truth is, you deserve a fine if the person you hired dumps it in a field.
This is an absolutely retarded line of thinking. A customer is not, and should not be, held accountable for a business's illegal practices. It's a 99% chance the transaction is made entirely in good faith and almost impossible to prove otherwise. But yes, let's make everyone responsible for everyone else's actions. People like you are the entire reason we have such over excessive dumbshit laws. You lack the imagination to understand that you won't always be right, and that you've set a precedent that could harm you in the long run. Please don't vote, and please don't have kids.

And how would you prove that the customer knew their shit would be dumped in a field? Is there an exemption for people who didn't know their shit would be dumped illegally? Would the customer have to prove their innocence instead of the state proving their guilt? Do you know how anything works? Or do you just want 'BAD PEOPLE PUNISHED' without a single logical thought on the implementation of such a law and the detrimental effects it would have on you fellow citizens? Again, for everyone else's benefit, please refrain from voting
