Hello /diy/!
I was wondering if there is a book on Leonardo Da Vinci's inventions. Like with instructions on how to build his models. Of the glider for instance. His drawings are hard to decipher for someone who has little experience in building things like that.

And how much experience do you expect he had for drawing them?

I just wanted to know if there are step-by-step instructions for his inventions, that's it.

no there are not, and many of his "inventions" have flaws in the drawings in some cases to keep people from stealing his ideas.

if you need step by step instructions to build one of his inventions /diy/ is not for you.

Ultimately they really aren't "inventions", they are artist's conceptions...some more thought out and developed than others and more impressive than most because the artist was the person doing the conceiving...
but they were just suggestions of what might be and in many cases bear little resemblance to the actual inventions that finally realized those concepts.
I can draw an elephant genetically engineered to shoot bricks out of its ass on command, but thats not an invention.
Furthermore, if someone eventually figures out how to make useful building materials out of elephant shit, that drawing doesn't mean I invented it.

You are joking but this might already be happening in some countries

But why not? Isn't it the place to do something yourself? Aren't there any books that specialize on models of Da Vinci's concepts? I mean if they rebuild them in Assassin's Creed 2 there must be a channel or something

the people who made that game just took his drawing and made shit up.

His trebuchet works. You can buy a kit from pathfinders.
Buy 3d prints from: https://www.yeggi.com/q/da+vinci+trebuchet/
Buy plans from: http://www.redstoneprojects.com/trebuchetstore/mobile/tp5_davinci_trebuchet_plans.html
I can't find any free plans but will be watching the thread to see if anyone has suggestions.

Thank you very much my friend. These other guys act like I have cruel intentions. Like I committed heinous acts against humanity by making this thread. I just want to get into building stuff.

I'll take a look myself for some plans again and post them here.
