How do I remove this cabinet?
I took out every screw. It kind of swivels and moves but it seems to be attached by the wall at the back of the cabinet.
There is a microwave that hangs over the stove below it. I need to remove this cabinet to remove the microwave because the microwave has to be lifted up off of a wall mount.

It's probably on cleat lift the back straight up

I tried. I stood on the stove and lifted straight up. It doesn’t budge.
I can pull down and lift the cabinet a little bit. It’s being held by something in the lower, bottom part near the wall behind the cabinet.

but seriously. how do you expect us to help you when we are not there and you posted 1 picture?

if someone put a screw somewhere hard to get we won't know where it is.

Then it's the microwave and you don't need to remove the cabinet. Almost never do you need to remove the cabinet for an OTR microwave install unless it's newly external ventilation

>> No.2463125

Imagine googling modelnumber installation sheet to see how to get the microwave out without removing cabinets. Absolute madness.

the holes in the front of the cabinet should be for hanger bolts that come up from the microwave, the microwave should only be attached at the bottom rear and those hanger bolts, now that the hanger bolts are out you should just be able to tilt the microwave down forward and pull it off the mounting bracket
but you probably already tried that
in which case i have no idea how they mounted that thing to the wall only horizontally

i assure you that the microwave was mounted AFTER the cabinet.

very often have i come to /diy/ in a pickle and gotten good advice. you just have to exercise critical thinking and separate the chaff.

I've been here since 2007 and barely 1% of advice given here is good, correct, or helpful. in fact I never ask advice here. I come here on the off chance someone who is actually trying has a problems and I can give them actual helpful advice or direct them to a forum where they can get real advice.

the rest of the time I berate people for wanting people to do it for them. that is what OP wants.

the cabinet has no connection to the wall
look if glued with the microwave
normally this types of cabs are featured with hooks for lifting up, but nothing to see here
the microwave is fucking heavy and has two fat hooks in the back
try to remove the spoilers from the microwave, eventually are there screws hidden

>> No.2464025

OP here.
I see most of the replies are saying I can remove it without taking down the cabinet.
Thank you for the replies, but the cabinet is in the way. I removed the top screws in the microwave and the microwave slants downward a few degrees. It will NOT lift off of the cleat holding it. THE CABINET IS IN THE WAY.
I had sticks I placed vertically under the microwave on wedges I could slide to create high power, vertical push on the microwave. The motherfucking cabinet is in the way!

OP… I assure you the cabinet doesn’t need to be removed. Watch a video of a microwave installation if you need to. Pull down on the front of the microwave, bend the wall mount if you have to, it’s sheet metal.

Yes but op is retarded and doesn't need to remove the cabinet. As was pointed out several posts ago she just needs to lift the back of the microwave off the metal clear. The picture of the wall bracket posted by someone else confirms this.

you're doing it wrong
you never have to remove the fucking cabinet to remove a microwave

>she just needs to lift the back of the microwave off the metal clear.
It's possible that the microwave was installed first. And then the cabinet was installed above it, not leaving sufficient clearance to lift the microwave off the bracket.

>> No.2465496

>>2463103
You do not have to remove the cabinet to swap the microwave, I just did mine last year.
Re assemble your cupboards and remove the bolts at the top of the microwave attaching it to said cabinet above.
Rock the microwave forward slightly and lift the back off the metal rack. Make sure you have the strength to do it without dropping it onto your stove, if you don’t, stack up some wood so the microwave can drop into the pile gently

>> No.2465499

>>2465496
Side note; If you have to remove the cabinet then it was installed improperly and you should lower the mounting rack at the back anyways, so just use a pry bar and pry the fucking thing off. You may need to patch the wall again after. It’s likely just a small sheet of drywall you’d need to replace anyways.

Alternatively look for small stickers covering screw heads aiming towards the adjacent cabinets.

>>2465487
no it is not possible that the microwave was installed first. this is not a thing that is done.

No it isn't, you fucking idiot. They didn't build the cabinet around the microwave, they set the microwave inside the cabinet
