Yeah, I used sanded grout, and murdered these black tile with scratches.
Will a wet look sealer bail me out? Or am I completely fucked?

I’m thinking about using Nu Finish Scratch Doctor to fix it up

Take one step closer when you're cleaning. You need to actually touch the tiles when you're doing it.

Just go over the surface with an orbital sander and absurdly high grit sandpaper, like 10k grit. Then use a buffing wheel and some polishing compound.

Tile worker here. You sure that isn't the grout? Have you tried dragging a razor blade across the effected areas?

If it's actually in the tile, well then I'm sorry but you are fucked. You can try car polish. Maybe Brasso.

But most likely the scratches are in the tile.

Sorry man. Whenever you have a large, and high dollar tile project. You should fuck with a test tile outside. Like try your grout on it, test your grout setup time, try to scratch the tile. Etc. then you will know how your project will act when you go to grout it.

You must have been pressing hard, that tile does not scratch easy

That just looks like dried grout smear, try cleaning it with a fresh green pad, water and elbow grease.

Clean it up. Still looks like grout that you just spread around. Get better close up pics of the actual scratches.

Those things scratch like crazy. Use a proper non-scratch scrubber. Usually blue.

looks like there is still grout. as a bullshit handyman I’d say…
>make it look intentional by making patterns with more sand
or kek
>continue to remove the gloss
all in all you fucked up unless that is just leftover grout

>> No.2449545

>>2449435
Even if it's just leftover grout op is fucked there's no way to get it off high gloss tile without destroying the tile one dried/cured. Maybe dry ice might maybe freeze it enough to gently chip off. Maybe.

I work with tiles regularly. Green pads work and don't ruin even the most polished tiles, no matter how hard you press.

>> No.2449572

>>2449565
Interesting. I've had them scratch glass so I refuse to use them anymore

>> No.2449640

>>2449572
Most tiles are ceramic, some porcelain, which are both harder than glass. It's actually really hard to scratch tiles, even with sanded grout. Which is why OP is a faggot, there would have to be many short scrubbing scratches to have applied enough pressure to scratch it that severely. Also you can see the goute lines trail off into the tile. He just can't clean proper, or flush his tiles.

Still waiting to see a pic of the tile without all the grout residue on it so we can actually see the scratches.

Never gonna happen, op cleaned the tiles and realized what an over dramatic idiot he was and refuses to come back to face his shame. Aka a faggot.

is that travertine? I do hard surface restoration, fucking hate that stuff. I'd see if you can get like a really high grit pad and throw it on a variable speed grinder. I don't know the name of the pads, we just use em at work, I think they're called a "DIP pad" but I may be wrong. like 3000 grit or higher.

I've worked with tile for 10 years.

Green pads will scratch some natural stone tiles, and yes they can scratch glass if you press hard enough.
