There's a place I used to live near that sold a california roll sandwich, which was imitation crab/mayo mix, carrots, cellery and lettuce on white bread. Think like a tuna salad sandwich, but distinctly sushi. I think about that sandwich often. Also this thread would be better suited for /ck/ unless you're planning to build furniture out of it.

I eat authentic sushi more often than not but every once in a while I go to a cheap sushi place near me and order the nastiest, cheesiest deep fried mayonnaise sushi monstrosity. It's nothing like real sushi, but there's something very good about cheese, fried batter, rice and the light umami from the seaweed inside.
