Any advice for tearing up the linoleum kitchen floor and putting tile down? Do the floor boards need to be a certain thickness? My wife and I were wondering if anyone has attempted this and what to expect. If its a good idea or not.

Generally when faced with linoleum, the answers that most flooring people have given is if it's still tight to the subfloor, don't bother taking it up and just build the new floor right on top of it, as it's just not worth the time ripping it off.

Are you going to be stapling mesh + scratch coat? then you are fine. If you are doing drypack, ditra or wtv I'd say pull it up. If it was my house I'd pull it up cus it would bother me forever, what would it take, a day or two?
