This is generally a really slow board. Don't worry.

you could make a oscillator that makes a high pitch annoying sound. use another to turn it on for a few seconds every 20 minutes or so. hide it to troll people.
I put one in a book and left it in the schools library for a few days

Is this on the photo really everything your part box contains?

Better yet, just make it chirp once every 5mins or so. The sound would be too short for anyone to track down without spending a large amount of time.

Relevant to my interests but I play bass, something that would also be cool is something furniture-esque to put on a shelf or something around my house

Any and all you say? Meet madbeanspedals.com They have a full selection of PCBs you can order, with complete instructions for each. They all are their own pdfs with designs for etching you own PCB or schematics if you just wanna perfboard it. I built the cave dweller pedal for about $20 total and it sounds fucking TREMENDOUS. They have everything listed with what pedal it sounds like, so you can build a copy of a $100 pedal for half or less of that price.

These caught my eye as I play guitar and don't want to spend a ton of money on effect pedals, plus I've always liked diy shit anyway. Problem is, I have no idea how to read schematics at all. Is there a guide on how to do it that you'd recommend?

If you play bass maybe you would be interested in a booster.
