hey /diy/ I was looking for some help with my sewing machine.

When I adjust the needle position left or right, the machine stops stitching. When the needle is centered, it stitches. I've re-threaded the needle as far as I can tell, it still does it.

Any suggestions?

well it doesn't seem like that would be in the manual though.

does the machine actually stop? or is it that the bottom thread is not catching the top?

the machine does not stop, it just won't stitch, so I assume that means the bottom thread is not catching the top as you say. The needle seems to penetrate the quilt but won't stitch.

>>2024846
yes but it won't stitch. It looks easy on the video but mine won't stitch after adjusting the position,

are you setting the machine per the manual pag 34 of the one I found on line?

have you checked to make sure it is clean below the needle plate?

Your timing could be off.

moving the needle could fuck up the timing

is the machine set for twin needle? it won't do zig zag if it is.

OP here, found out the hook timing is off.

Not sure how to adjust it though, my machine doesn't have many options.

you will have to find a video on youtube or take it in somewhere.

It's an easy job, just look it up online, shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.

pretty much this, just roll the quilt tighter for those extra millimeters
