It will work but the two things that aren't code are:
1: no slip joints on horizontal parts. They sell longer horizontal 90°. Look for a double basin sink kit
2: no upside down slip joints. They sell direct waste trees without that bottom nut that should go directly I to your p trap or into another slip extension into the p trap.
But if it holds water than your technically good.

I made a puffer for the fireplace. I didn't let the wood dry enough before I made it so it warped pretty bad and I tried to clean up the air in hole and made it look like an ass hole, and as the wood fully dried the leather gapped so I added a boat load of silicone caulk. Pretty garbage overall and I was intoxicated for the majority of it but it works and I used it every morning to get the coals heated up.
Wood is from a half fucked maple that was hanging over a house that thankfully they wanted me to take the tree down before it gave out.

Lol. For once this piece actually used solid wood. See how the corners are heavily rounded over, that would be tricky to achieve well with an applied veneer.

Started with 4/4 rough lumber milled down to a hair over 13/16", to get the thickness to continue through the internal radius of the corners I had to scab on more solid wood on the inside.

>> No.2017048 [DELETED]

But the door and drawer faces are veneered, but with 1/4" thick solid edging pre applied before the veneer.

You can really rely on solid wood to remail consistent in size and flatness for doors that size.

I made a new tote for this wooden plane that I got at an antique store for cheap. The original was somehow missing (not broken, straight up gone, which is weird given that they are glued into a recess). The gouge I forged to try out my new swage block. It's honestly not very good. Way too thick and I made the handle too skinny. Shouldn't have curved it into a complete half round either, but left it shallower. Oh well, I was just winging it. It's 1075 steel.

Bracket that I used as an excuse to try out doing upset square corners. For those who don't know, if you just bend a corner, even if you make it a sharp 90 degree bend on the inside of the corner the outside would turn out rounded due to lack of material. One of the ways to get around this is after making the bend, you upset the material at the corner by hitting just slightly away from it lightly to shorten the material there and add thickness.

A good video of what I'm talking about is this one from a true master, Mark Aspery, since my explanation sucks and it is hard to explain anyway.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJK_tW5ZOTs

I use this to hang my combination square on my anvil stand. The spiky ends were driven into the wood and that's all that holds it.

These are a hook I forged with the threads hand filed with a triangular file. The hammer is a tack hammer I made for my wife. I was never able to get it magnetic enough to work right and have since bought one at a garage sale that works better. I like how it looks though.

Redoing the basement which was horribly moist. Not to the point where there was standing water or anything really requiring outside coating so I coated the walls with cement with a waterproofing resin additive. When dry I'll coat it with a white epoxy coating. The floor will be epoxy too and then I'll build new stairs, some shelves and put the washing machine, dryer and fridge/freezer back.

Btw that weird appendix on the water mains is where a faucet was (and will be) but I wanted it off the wall so I could put cement behind it but I didn't want to be without water for a week

It's a very old house and ground water is very high here (NL) so my best guess is just some water being absorbed upwards through the walls. When everything is done I'm installing a dehumidifier so that would solve any condensation issues even though it's mainly because the drying machine always causes dampness. The dryer wasn't installed previously so that couldn't be the issue. Also in any case it just looks better and now there aren't any moldy chips of old paint falling off the wall anymore so that's a plus I guess. Pic related is how it looked wet, these two walls turned out somewhat smoother than the others which are somewhat rough but I'm not a pro in any way

Thanks for thinking along btw

And then this. I cut spare steel pannels into strips to make the fence higher and hide the street better. I also changer the lower strips. Pretty proud of my grinder work on this.
I had to cut up pannels from the big gate in the process, that I then replaced with sheet metal that I scavenged from an old door that was laying around from on of the previous owners. The shet metal was glued over a block of extruded polystyren and I couldn't remove it without bending it out of shape, so instead I cut the polystyren thickness wise with my chainsaw and then scraped it from the sheet metal.

Also if you plan on selling, make sure you get sanwa or seimitsu buttons and sticks. They're like $1-2 per button and $20 for the stick. Also the start and coin buttons ideally should be placed a little further from the action buttons to prevent accidentally pausing the game. Pretty new to homeowning so I didn't have a power washer until recently. I'll be able to clean it this summer.
The planter part is pretty worn out though, power washing it would remove most of the plaster. I'll have to redo it eventually.
I also plan on replacing the concrete ground with something else but for now it'll have to do.

>What are your time and material costs?

Hard to say. Those two were drawers from an old dresser I found and surplus aluminum sheet. But, if I had to put together a proper BoM, I'm probably looking at ~$25 in material, most of which was the buttons and stick. That was retail price on those, though. I assume I could probably get that down quite a bit if I was buying hundreds of buttons and dozens of sticks.

Not sure about time, either. These took forever because I knowingly made some stupid decisions when making them, but I have CNC equipment that could probably cut off over 90% of the work if I were to come up with some proper workholding. Could probably manage under 2 hours total per piece.

Looks good anon. Did you use any mold treatment before the hydraulic cement or after? Mold is a big pain in the ass and will exist no matter what, but you can mitigate. I did a borax wash on a basement wall recently and it massively cut down the mold smell. Don't rely on drylok or kilz alone, as even with a dehumidifier and sealed wall, it can still grow through. I also recommend keeping your dehumidifier clean. I had mine continuously draining into my sump pit and it built up a big mildew layer inside. I drop a bit of borax in mine every time I drain it now. Might not be a bad idea to use an ozone treatment in there if you can be out if the area for a few hours, as it will kill spores and break down exposed mycotoxins. Ozone wrecks all living things and rubber, so be mindful.

forgot to add that you might want to do a cement layer where the walls meet the floor. Water will always wick through wherever it can, and if there's a gap it will outright leak during high water. I did this with 1.5" PVC pipe around my interior foundation and then drylok over top the whole wall down to where it meets the floor. It completely stopped the water from coming in.

Make a drawing first, to scale. There are good stairs and bad stairs. Or use a form script like https://www.upstairs.com/nl-NL/trap-renoveren-nederland/een-trap-uittekenen-zo-ga-je-te-werk/

Get one of pic related and use a math triangle to set it to the angle of the stairs. Draw the slots to be routered with pencil using this so they'll be level.

Make jigs for the router. It's as simple as two strips of wood screwed together in the angle of the stairs. So like /_
You'll need two, one with strip 1 on top and the other with strip 2 on top (because the risers are mirrored). Push router to the upper strip and router away a small piece of the lower strip. Flip the jig and repeat on other side. The edge of the routered notch is now your indicator, align with pencil marked slots to be routered, clamp down and let her rip

I'll make some pictures of the jig tomorrow if I remember, bc idk if I explained it well

I started using Voestalpine 26C3 about 10 months ago for my carbon steel knives and pretty happy with the results. Its a really pure low alloy steel on par with anything Hitachi makes and gets insanely hard, those ones are 65HRC with a differential hardening. Normally though I've been a little less risky aiming for around 64 with no softer spine, being a steel made specifically for razors and scalpels it gets insanely sharp and seems to hold an edge pretty well.
No corrosion resistance, but a bit of a ferric dip and sit in instant coffee sludge overnight gets them nice and dark
