This. For sure the van guy.

The extension put on the back of my house.
It was just a patio that the previous owner decided to enclose with brick.
The angle of the roof is too low, so rain runs back into the roof and drips down.
The lights are literally desk lamps screwed to the brick.
Significant amounts of expanding foam has been used to fill the very large gaps between the walls and roof, the roof and the windows, the roof and the door, and just about everywhere else.

leave my van bro alone at least he's DOING something and posting pictures he took himself. that already puts him miles above everyone using /diy/ as google (using a googled image no less) or posting the 100000th thread about shipping containers, crab meat, or holes.

Andrew is like a slow-motion reality show. He finally hooked up with another woman who helped him install the windows, but then he had to show pic related. Not long after he did a vid abusing his brush cutter to "mulch lawn mowers", filling his driveway with debris and this was after another vid where he picked up a tiny scrap of wire and talked about how pristine he likes to keep his place. So, I wonder if the girl got pissed and left.

As for the castle, it's awesome in a lot of ways. I wonder how many hundreds of hours he spent welding on that thing.

Depends on where you live and what you are building. Local building code is different for everyone. I had to pay 25$ to my smallish city to get a permit to build my picket fence. They just came by and made sure the posts were below the frost line, simple as that. I could build a shed that size with no permit.

You live somewhere like right outside of LA, building codes are much much stricter.
You live out in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of land, who is going to know or care?
