This computer isn't particularly valuable. Shorting the machine didn't ultimately damage it anyway. I also seem to remember that he got it back to the original condition which he received it in. Nevermind the fact that three of the other four PCs in that lot were also fucked and unable to boot.

Antique computing is a hobbyist discipline, so you will naturally get people stupidly breaking shit from time to time. That's also just the nature of tinkering, especially with old computers for which replacement parts are not always readily available.

There will still be old junk computers coming out of warehouses for years to come. Much like barn cars. So, just calm down, junior. You'll have your chance to tinker eventually.

dummy... I just said that. the fittings are not water tight. thats why you dont use EMT outside anywhere. did you not fucking read what I said?

also if you are going underground thats what PVC is designed for. using underground cable is fine but I wouldnt trust that someone wont come along later and hit it with a shovel or something if they dont know its there. best practice is to always use pipe. best way to avoid possible damage later on.

It's all 1 phase, its 1 phase split by a transformer.

His breaker used two slots so it was 240v. I'm not rewatching but I am pretty sure he upsized the breaker too. He mentioned it was anemic 15 or 20a for a slow car charger. It would look exactly the same, you just need to see if the number on it changed.

I dont know usa code but normal countries you can put any cables together in conduit as long as ALL OF THEM are insulation rated to the highest voltage present. Of course people will complain about interference but it cant be worse than powerline or wifi. Pre terminated tough fibre lengths are increasingly becoming competitive cost wise. If I was running services to an outbuilding I would put in at least one if not two 4 inch twinwall ducts to draw whatever cables or pipes (water?) whenever without having to dig up the garden again
