My grandparents had a house where the master bedroom had a carpeted half bathroom,
It wasnt quite shag carpet, but it was a thicker green carpeting

I loved it though, it was actually really comfortable
Especially when its compared to the unfinished concrete in the basement, or poorly insulated upstairs really hot or really cold linoleum that had been essentially blocked off because there were 3 unused bedrooms upstairs where the kids had moved out
Not to mention the uncomfortable bathrooms were as far away as physically possible from the living room where everyone always was

being a half bath there was only a toilet and small sink so moisture was at a minimum as long as you could pee straight, this was in Arizona anyway so it was so hot and dry that things evaporated long before rotting anything out underneath.

What's /diy/'s view on wood flooring in bathrooms?
I never really encountered it, but my parents just bought a house and one of the bathrooms has a wood floor and it gets super sticky even with regular cleanings. Every other bathroom is tile, and the fact that the wood floor bathroom has the same floor as the kitchen outside of it makes me suspect that it was actually a closet that got converted into a bathroom by the boomer fuck who owned it before us. There's no bath or anything, just a toilet and a freestanding sink.
I should clarify, it's not even nice wood flooring, it's that shitty kind with the weird thick acrylic coating. I swear it reacts with ammonia and stuff from pee.
