Sup /diy/, /pol/ here.
In our process of looking for a new place to live/escaping our normal governments (because they are unjust and stupid), we (or I) am here in need of help.
Our new homes will be at sea, and we need an easy way to create boats and such.
So is there some kind of bacteria that we can harvest that multiplies and dies fast that create super floating bricks? Or Should we turn water into ice, and just make these boats?
I'm trying to find out the easiest way to keep people afloat, and alive so people can self farm.
What does /diy/ think?

I think there's a high-res somewhere that I don't have that explains how international waters are becoming sparse as current states are coming up with new excuses to claim bodies of water such as rocks in the middle of the ocean their military has some weather equipment on.

Also, The US's NDAA bill that has passed allows the president to order anyone killed that he deems a threat to national security, any members of a community at sea could easily be accused of being Al Qaeda agents planning to launch weapons at the US and at the very least, the military would find a rock nearby your living space, claim it, and force you off the land.

Such is life in the High-Tech Capitalist 21st Century. Maybe if enough people pooled their money together, we could build a colony on the Moon that America can't reach due to an under-funded space program.

Pykrete.

Virtually indestructible and takes years to melt.

Please don't tell me that tree's are the closest things we have to self growing bricks.
I will begrudgingly accept ice, as it is fast to turn that into a solid, but it's cold.

we can't go far on just fishing poles though...

So can I turn electricity into a type of brick?
one that would float?
I don't want to rely on grabbing sand and making glass either.

good cause you ewon;t pull that off either.

I'll pull it off old man!
I've found out how to transform gravity into an electrical outlet, and i'm close to solving out void properties that can be used like fuel.
Soon I will have material from electric, and I can build a world with significant ease!

I think the most obvious answer here would be...
Boats ?

FFS, OP. The world is filled to the brim with old disused boats. Boats float.
Low-tech, I know - but the amount of material you would need to build floating islands is ridiculous.
You can't start that big anyway,

tree's are to slow. It's a nice idea, but we don't have the time.

Maybe we could use the ice to get close to 'absolute zero' and find water molecules grouped together to make new forms of matter???
I feel like that's to drastic.

That sea weed idea isn't that bad.
Maybe we can make boats the same way Mythbusters made duck tape boat.
With 30 meter min growth we would only need to apply some adhesives for them to stick together.
So now you have a boat you still need engines to power them a food farm, storage area and living quarters.

ITT: IDIOTS.

easiest way of escaping current governments is to disappear innawoods with 3 other people. anything else is going to cost a god-damn fortune and be so restrictive as to be retarded. if you live on any decent sized landmass there will be forested areas that come under "uninhabited" and are basically outside of jurisdiction, purely because no fucker can find you.

and idk man grow some bamboo or something since it's as strong as steel and grows pretty damn fast too. plus you could make practically anything with bamboo.
