-Clean the entire system

-Ensure the exhaust fan is working if there is one.

-Ensure you're using a double-walled exhaust pipe.

Not to alarm you op, if you are still alive, but that is an overfire condition. I recommend to, in this order, close the air intake and exhaust damper, call your local FD, and prepare all occupants to evacuate. Then tomorrow call a specialist and show them the pictures.

It is supposed to do that. Just make sure you have a joint of insulated pipe where it goes through the wall/roof, even if it is through stone. Regardless, that is normal when you have a raging fire and have the damper fully open. You can reduce this by dampering off the pipe a bit to slow down the burn. Judging from that image, that pipe doesn't have a damper. The stove should have one and the pipe should have one. Adjusting both will help you slow down/speed up the fuel burning.

The only time something like that will be a problem is if you don't have insulated pipe through a wall/ceiling/roof/attic space/up side of an unsheilded wall and it happens to be a creosote fire. Your stove won't have any creosote build up due to that amazing drafting and hot flue burn.

Everyone who says the pipe might be clogged, doesn't know what they are talking about.

Yup. Normally, you only do that when you want to get rid of a small amount of creosote build up before it becomes a problem.

Too much air or a hole letting air directly into the flue and causing secondary combustion within it. Check for gaps. Do it soon because your flue pipe will not last very long if its glowing like that.

You need a double wall pipe, it looks like you have a single wall type, that needs replacing soon if so. Either way the condition you have there is not good because you cramed a lot of wood in there and fully opened the damper, the air flow has the combustion going up your pipe, you've basically made a rocket stove, put your damper down to a low or medium for night and about half that wood.

Ideally a small sauna is warm after burning ~1.5 pesällistä of wood in the kiuas. Then you just upkeep the heat with minimal amount of wood. Exhaust pipe should not look like that unless you enjoy an actual inferno of +140C or so.

Last time I saw a wood-burning stove all red was in the military, in a tent where there's close to no insulation and it's -25C outside.

I consulted with mother who moved into a cabin when retired, had a similar furnace at first.

1. You have the cheapest, thinest pipe possible, you must replace it with a special thick one or it will burn through and you'll die.

2. That furnace has shitty instalment - all heat goes up. Pipe should exit in the back on bottom.

3. You load too much wood.

4. Check air intake walve, maybe too much air is going in.

>> No.1751175

This thread is full of a lot of communistic propaganda, like this shit: "Europeans and Russians can typically handle hot temperatures better than Americans can, because saunas play a big part in their culture, especially in Northern Europe. In these countries it’s allowed for saunas to go above 200°F.

In the USA and Canada however, the maximum sauna temperature sits at 194°F (90°C). Sauna heaters often have high-temperature limit switches that control the maximum temperature for safety reasons."

Well, you don't have to be an expert to know that glowing hot metal can be easily oxidised by the surrounding oxygen. You can go in any sauna you want you will never see that. Now if you have a doubt, just let the thing cool off, go to the place you bought your equipment and ask some expert.

Look at the chart I joined, the temperature is far too high.

Norwegian here, normally we have cold winters and heat with electricity and wood. If we modify the furnace we are supposed to have it inspected. Few do, so if you make a request they will be there pretty quickly. It is not just a question of excess capacity for inspections, there is also the issue of having a world record in house fires.
