take it apart
strip the paint either with a chemical or blasting
fix dents or other issues
If the surface is not smooth or not to your liking, then paint with filler primer, sand primer, paint with desired color.
Filler primer will fill small defects and can be sanded smooth as in picture related. Sanding allows the new paint to adhere to the surface.
clean, remove rust, and polish non painted items or replace with new.
I am sure there are video tutorials on youtube.
Metal finishing is not too difficult if you know what you are doing. Its the same process for a real car.

Great job anon.

When it wasn’t perfect to start with better than it was a lot better l
As for prep didn’t have the luxury so oh well roll with it

I just now reread wat I posted I put it wrong I knocked paint off body down to metal best could left blue on fenders and tailgate wat I meant so it would kids peek thru with coat of orange
The prep didn’t have luxury of doing it all way right no primer just black on it
Still not done gonna put white walls on it and maybe dually on back might lower front but give it a more aggressive stance if can

why bother? Why spend the time to take pictures, ask for advise, and then spray some black paint over the blue?
looked like shit before.
looks like shit after.
just throw it in the trash.

>> No.1741083

Im trying to say positive things.
I really like how you left the rust on the front bumper bolts. the rusty bolts do give it the rat rod look.
but now you have a truck that is blue, black, orange, silver and two kinds of head lights...
