It's fun, but looking to switch to a manufacturing job; most places, even small ones, that make widgets also have a dept. that designs widgets. Several of my friends have got their engineering jobs just out of school this way.

Carpentry (construction, millwork, cabinetry and a bit of furniture making), plumbing, can do basic mud and tilework. I also build miscellaneous items as problems arise that need fixing, like building a buoy for spearfishing.

If you want to read up further on the legality of it. I will never discuss anything here pertaining on how to make or improve a design of something in the grey area of the law inside the U.S.

I only stated the word "prototypes". The only thing I can suggest is be careful and mindful of the law.

I know we're talking about about air rifles and pistols but, while talking about them we're also talking about suppressors which are under the BATFE's ruling. I'm also trying to stay within the rules of the board.

Silencers for air rifles are allowed, silencers for real rifles require even more lisences.
you can buy an air rifle if your over 18, and if your under, the laws are FUBAR, but you can still use them.

I might be able to suggest one thing.

If you want to have some real fun, try designing an integral suppressor. If you have any experience with metalworking like I, you can simply make a new barrel for your air rifle if you fuck up. Those types of suppressors cannot be attached or disassembled, making them completely legal in Scotland and the U.S.

That's what I'm working on as of right now. I haven't begun any major or minor tests, I only have a simple design of a barrel with cut out baffles inside the barrel. The only problem I am having is making the baffle cut outs that are slim enough to catch excessive air without causing major accuracy issues. Too much air caught, pellet flight is totally fucked and you lose severe muzzle velocity. Too little air and you don't get the desired affect on the dB; which means a useless barrel because, it is still losing some muzzle velocity and doesn't "suppress" the air rifle.

I'm okay with it for now because my husband makes a decent amount, and since we just moved to another state I get to set all our affairs in order. It really helps to have someone at home during the day to pick up furniture deliveries and such, and to wait for the cable guy/phone company/electrician and so on. I'm glad you asked that, it has a lot to do with child abandonment issues I had when I hit 12 and my mother left us, leaving my dad to raise me (he's a motherfucking trooper and a bro). Been on that emotional rollercoaster even to this day, I still show signs of it. Like of the subconscious level. And I just kinda played video games to escape my own problems. I played a lot of sonic adventure (makes me want to take up psychology and look at sonic fans.) I was on here, and saw a mspaint image on like, becoming an alpha male, and getting a job that doesn't involve paper hats. Then I was playing tf2, trying to get a stupid fucking achievement, got so close to it and I got killed, I like snapped and shut off the game and everything and kinda sat in my room thinking, I'm not happy. So I was gonna start doing step 8 of that image, except I can actually be who I pretend to be at the same time. Because I enjoyed making movies, characters, plot, the whole biz. But mainly, I think it had to do a lot with my mother leaving me and kinda leaving me a sour taster for women.

Oh totally. I want to be a Fish Veterinarian of sorts for an aquarium, or possibly get into genetic research or therapy. I'm not a hundred percent sure.

I can sew a bit (as in a I can follow patterns, but I don't do it on a regular basis). I can do a bunch of other things with a little bit of skill, nothing certified, just what I learned helping my parents out with their many projects.

I love gardening but I kill everything I touch, so when I have money to blow and enough room I'm going to try out aquaponics. My university has a huge room dedicated to it where they grow tilapia and vegetables for the culinary program. I also enjoy writing and spending hours researching anything that piques my interest.

I dont usually have more than an hour or two a day of spare time so I just chill on the internet (usually here) and then go to bed.

Finishing up Visual arts degree.

Student, obviously.

A career in the arts might not pay much, but I'd enjoy the fuck out of it and can pursue pretty much anything that takes my interest.

Skills are you typical arts ones, painting, drawing, drafting, basic carpentry/cabinet making, basic casting and concreting, funnily enough.

I'm interested in most trades, but am coming to the sad conclusion I'm not going to be able to get good at all of them.
Blacksmithy would be good to learn. I want to get into gardening more (For myself), because of how useful and delicious my dabbling in it has been thus far. I want to be a better cabinet maker and learn how to use a lathe, milling machine, etc. I have gingery's books and want to try making a metal workshop.

I have no spare time.
