Sure looks like a lug sole with welt construction, so yes. Just swing by your local shoe repair shop and ask.

Also, there is a stupid questions thread for a reason.

All good boots like (vintage) Docs and Carolinas can be resoled. Look up Goodyear Welt Stitch on YT,

Yes, most likely.

>if they're not and were made in the last ten years
No. Go ahead and see what your local cobblers want to do, but they're shitty pvc soles. Shit plastic with third world build quality.
Not a great workboot either, sole means your feet basically slap on hard shit everyday and no ankle support.

/fa/ as fuck unfortunately. I remember when they warned against them, but fuck then, good profile with few lines, and their """"chunkyness""" is offset by my board shoulders and chest, unlike the willowy bitch boys from that board

what brand of full ankle steel toes is worth buying and resoling as needed?

i have like 6 pairs of redwings but they are all cut up and scared. shitty boots

These were the epitome of cool. And they cost a fortune.
I still have my Docs from 1993, and at my age im not worried about being cool anymore.

If they are being resoled, what does it matter what the current soles are? The uppers look to be in great shape so they are likely worth the cost of being resoled.

i have owned and worn only doc martens for the past 16 years or more. no fuckin way those soles are done for.
pic related. that's what a doc martens boot with a fucked sole looks like.

also to answer your question, cobblers tell me nothing sticks to the material doc martens soles are made of, which is what they state on them and why i wear them, unlike ordinary boots they won't slip on certain wet/oily surfaces that ordinary boots would.
consequently they resist cobblers glue.

This seems like the right thread.
My new shoes' soles started breaking away from the bottom and I need to know what type of glue could be used to keep them securely in place (clearly regular wood/super glue wouldn't cut it).

Yes I know they're cheaply made in China, yes I know I'm being cheap and they cost me next to nothing, but this is /diy/ and I won't throw it away if I can cheaply fix it myself. Without getting into expensive specialist materials, what hobbyist/industrial glue can I use to fix these fairly well?

Personally I think it looks like something Dorothy's spinster aunt who rides the bicycle would wear.

super glue works super great in my experience. fixed numerous dress shoes that way

>> No.1638409

>>1638406
I appreciate your experience but I doubt that very much. The sole is cheap rubber of some kind, and isn't flat on the inside but rather shaped into square holes (i.e. there's little surface area of the rubber touching the underside of the shoe); in addition I'm a big guy (90kg) and they broke after very short use, I doubt superglue would hold it for longer than a minute with me walking around.

Kek just because you dont use them for what they are made for does not mean others do. If you use them intensively in urban and outdoor terrain every day they will go within a few years.
