The problem was entirely labor related, Pidgn™ only used subcontractors who would have to bring the crusher in using their own vehicle on their own time. Most of them were scab fucks who were always late or otherwise didn't give a shit about not pissing on your property or not wrecking your driveway with their trailers. Also, they were never required to clean up after themselves so customers had to wash out the guts and blood using their own garden hoses.

On top of that, why bother paying someone to crush a pigeon when an exterminator will just poison them? Pidgn™'s branding as taking on Big Pest Control didn't work because pest controllers are much better at their jobs and far more effective despite their high prices. And ultimately Orkin is a profitable business, Pidgn™ never was despite their attempts to push Pidgn™ Eats on lazy stoners.

Uber has the same problems vis-a-vis buses.

my sister has small hands and isn't big enough to do a full size lever because she doesn't know how to throw her body and get enough leverage. The smaller ones will work on the chicks anyway, and they just drown the full size ones in a sink or use a hammer like people used to.

I always felt like the industrial model was too much for my simple homeowner needs. If they reconfigured it at a more modest price, a tactical look, a Walmart endcap and Hunter Ellis in the commercial, I would already have one in my garage and a backup in the RV.

It wasn't marketed very well. The startups never managed to explain the benefits of crushing pigeons this way, and so the bottom fell out of the market and the venture capital dried up.

I do think it's a solid concept. As technology gets better and the word gets out, expect PCaaS to make a comeback.
