Are there any ways to correct hard water without installing a full size water softener? My clothes, car, and skin are all getting wrecked

You can add water softener like calgon to your dishwasher and laundry. The o ly thing that sucks is it will still rinse with hard water. For your dishes you can use a rinse aid thoufh. Only fancy new laundry machines have a rinse aid dispenser. I think Downey used to sell a ball that opened up in the rinse, but I haven't seen that marketed in a year.

Same thing for your car. Calgon and get one of those sprayers that suck soap. There was a Mr clean branded filter for washing cars years ago too, but that was a scam, like $10 worth of filter to wash and rinse your car.

And just buy a water softener and run hoses from the water connection and to the place of use. Run a hose for the fast rinse line to drain.

you know that water softeners only run to the hot water lines right? You still have hard cold water. the CA2+ and MG2+ which is most of hardness that you have a problem with, will come out of solution if you heat it. Only really a problem with soap, since the the positive ions basically negate the negative ions in the soap which clean you (its more complicated than that, but you don't need to know), so you end up using more soap. Unless you're washing your car with hot water, wont matter. Your skin doesn't get fucked, that's just you being retard. Use more soap and everything will be fine. Your jew landlord will have to pay the price down the line.

If you want to stick it to him hard, make a faucet furthest from the hot water heater just drip out water. Deposits will render pipes totally fucked in a while. You won't get any water pressure, but who cares, you rent anyway.

I have an idea, how about you stop reading studies and also stop being a pussy. My water is 17 on the hardness scale and I have never felt stronger (or cleaner). Sure my car has a nice protective layer of calcium that you might find unattractive but my bones and teeth are fortified and can break through anything. In fact, prolonged calcium exposure can be harmful.
And the calcium buildup on your car may very likely be oxidising away the metal.
