You should snake your drains more often than me.

I'd snake your drain if you know what I mean ;)

You shouldn't have to snake your drains very often in the first place unless you've got a woman in the house

You should use that funny pinky-orange device to remove and dispose of your hair in a more thoughtful manner than letting it just go down the drain.

This is incorrect, I'm in a male-only flat and everyone shaving over the bathroom basin has clogged up the pipe with hair. Already dissasembled the U-bend once and used a plunger twice, both helped a little but didn't resolve the issue.

I bought a plastic drain snake (set of 2) from the dollar store. Looks a lot like this pic. It helped with my clogged sinks.

Rent an air compressor plug the drain with the hose and let er rip. Instantly clears any blockages

Would a bike pump work?

>> No.1576326

>>1576313
Id imagine the pressure would be too small.

>> No.1576327

>>1576326
Bike tires can be pumped up to 60psi, and I imagine the pipes themselves aren't rated as high as a bike tire is pressure-wise.

>> No.1576329

>>1576327
It would take some effort to pump the pipe up to given pressure, and I doubt the pipe is clogged all the way, without releasing the pressure slowly. Come to think of it, perhaps the water in the S-bend could work as a seal (kinda like the toilet bell). It might push through a huge chunk of gunk and hair, but the sidewalls of the pipe will remain dirty with residue, so I would follow up with some chemical reaction.

>> No.1576331

>>1576329
I was thinking that running water down first would make a seal inside the grime itself, since the water drains really fucking slowly.

>> No.1576334

>>1576331
If you have a bike pump at hand, hey, give it a try, but how would you make a seal on the drain itself? Make a hole through a rubber drain plug perhaps and push the pump needle through it?

>> No.1576339

>>1576331
theres a vent in your bathtub to prevent it from overfilling which unless plugged a plunger wont do shite. try plugging the thing and then go to town on that plunger like it owes you lunch

if that dont work, let it drain all the way

fill up with baking soda then dump the vinegar to it

if that dont work get a piece of bendy wire nice and long and try working it in there

if that dont work try the plunger again

then try the plunger and vinegar and baking soda all at once

dont put 60lbs into your drain, you wont be happy when it busts apart

Legitimately wondering if a strong solution of nair would solve the issue. It dissolves hair, right, so why wouldn't it work?

Probably a waste of money compared to drano or caustic soda. It might not be friendly on pipes either.

I have a beard and it's easier to snake the drain than to clean up everytime I trim my beard. Something about the hair makes it hard to clean off the sink. It just smears around.

Get a metal strainer and instead of cleaning it, just run a lighter under it and burn off all the hair.
