need some assistance. i cut down a solid wood door to use as an entry way door at the front of my house. 4 inches of width needed to be removed for the door to fit, and unfortunately, I removed 4 inches from one side of the door instead of 2 from each side, keeping it even. Once I got the door in the case to look at it, I really could tell how uneven it was and it doesn't look right at all. it's a nice, old 6 panel with decorative window, and I'd really like to be able to keep and use it. Is there a best way to rejoin clean cut wood without any joinery? Thanks

I don’t know everything. I’ve been doing carpentry for five years professionally. I’m going to say, you are fucked, m8.
I’ll bum the thread and hope someone can help. At my work, because my GC relies on word of mouth, we’d just replace it. You can’t ever get that to look unseamed again.
But like I said, I try and learn something different every day. Possibly someone here knows tricks I haven’t seen. So, I’ll wish you luck and bump your thread.

the best way would be to reglue the cut section back on with a piece of metal or something similar to distribute the pressure across the glue line and not just where the clamps will be. ofcourse the grains will never line up anymore since youve cut a few mm of the door away.

or put a bevel on the latch side and a giant handleset and pretend it was supposed to be that way

you could bolt it back on with a decorative cast iron plate from top to bottom, put one on each side for that quaint rustic medieval look
