So I'm trying to find spuds for this old 1930s Standard purimo watercloset but cant find any OEM parts or substitutes... any ideas for substitutes or places I can find parts? Really trying to get this think to stop leaking

American spuds are still made. Should get 2” chrome flush tube, one spud, new flush valve. Try a local plumbing supply house. It’s not rocket surgery. Also post leak

Broke my old toilet when i droped a rifle in it, couldnt find any standard toilets to replace it with, only low flow bullshit. So now i have a cuck bowl that doesnt even flush all my piss in one flush and cant fush my shit at all so i have to shit in a can that i keep under the sink. Fuck hippies.

This. Post leak. Is it running in the back of the tank like it’s trying to fill? Leaking out of the tank? Leaking out of the bottom where it’s attached on the floor?

figure this is a good thread to post in.
I have a nasty looking old brown toilet. It's completely sound, so not replacing it, but the wax ring had rotted away and had been leaking on my carpet the level below (just purchased the house btw).
The old PVC flange was cracking and falling apart, so I cut the PVC just below the flange, installed a new stainless flange, and reseat the toilet with a fernco waxless rubber seal.
My question is, should I support the PVC elbow more where it comes through the floor below, or is it fine just 'floating' from the nearest strap (about two feet away) to the fernco flange.

>>1535118
As long as the flange is attached to the subfloor you should be fine. Based on your picture it has a couple of screw in it. As long as it doesn't wiggle that should do it.

Well I removed the flange pictured. Not so much that it was actually falling apart, but the fasteners were. Replaced it with a stainless one after cutting off the PVC flange.
The flange is very well attached to the subfloor, but the downpipe itself is not.

That steel ring is just for securing the toilet to the floor. It is a repair kit meant to go over an existing, damaged flange so you don't have to replace the whole thing. You still need a flange around the waste pipe for the wax ring or equivalent to sit on. It looks like you removed the old flange but not completely. The pipe should look like a straight cut off piece of PVC. Now it looks like there is a chunk of the old flange left on.

>> No.1535304

>>1535118
Cut it out and use a new flange and coupling to the old pipe. Wax melts.
Korky 6010 wax free seal is best. Glue it to the flange with clear roofing cement. Glue the toilet to the korky 6010 with clear silicone. Also when setting the toilet, silicone the footprint of the toilet to the floor. Johni bolt brand toilet bolt hardware is solid brass and won’t rot rust or corrode. Any toilet hardware that sticks to a magnet will rust out and disappear slowly.

Holy shit a toilet like this exists.. i wouldn't have to hold my big dick back from touching the inside rim when taking a shit. Why did they get rid of this? feminism? Who was to blame.

I need to know.

I grew up living in an apartment that was a deluxe unit originally intended for someone connected to the apartment complex. It had screens on the windows and nobody else did, it had nice blinds and a fancy ceiling fan, things like that.
I never experienced splashback until I moved away. Luckily I can still remember my former luxury toilet thanks to the fact that the brand was also the name of a hit song.

It is far easier and more efficient to replace it with a new toilet. Also, your local water utility company may offer a rebate for replacing it.
